M 66 was seen as a large bright elliptical glow about four arc minutes across, the inner region was very bright were a faint stellar nucleus could be seen. The galaxy was oriented roughly north – South and was possibly longer along its axis on the northern side, a bright lane seemed to span M 66 North to South on its western side possibly the longest on the southern side of the galaxy, the area seemed to suddenly cut off beyond this point.
M 95 - 10 inch reflector + Watec
Rather poor conditions and lots of moisture in the air hampered this observation but M 95 looked like a very bright nucleus with a fainter elongated bar orientated East West. Two faint arms joined onto both ends of the bar but these were quite faint and at times seem to curve right around the galaxy.
