Rigel is magnitude 0.1 and was a dazzling sight in the eyepiece but atmospheric unsteadiness made it somewhat bloated making the observation difficult but its companion by comparison a faint magnitude 6.8 point of light with a 9.5" separation was seen making a nice sight.
Lambda
An easy pairing of cream coloured stars of magnitudes 3.4 and 5.4 and 4.3" distance.
Theta 1
Theta Orionis is at the heart of the Orion Nebula and consists of 6 observable stars. The main four stars are of magnitudes A=6.7, B=7.9, C=5.1 and D=6.7, these four stars form the trapezium shape and an easy target in any telescope but under good conditions a larger scope may be able to resolve stars H and I of magnitudes 11.1 and 11.5 very close to stars A and B as you can see in the observation.
Delta
This is an easy double to split consisting of a magnitude 2.2 pale yellow primary and a magnitude 6.8 pale yellow companion 53" away.
Sigma
A fantastic system, very colourful. Star A is yellow-white and the others look blue-purple. Sigma itself is magnitude 4.0, star E is 6.5, Star D is 7.5 and star C is magnitude 10.3. A star for every observing list.
