Mizar and Alcor are an easy naked eye double of magnitudes 2.06 and 3.9 with a separation of 12 arc minutes. Any optical equipment will show these two stars even at low power far apart in the eyepiece but any telescope will show that Mizar itself is a double; its companion designated star C is 14.4" away and these two stars form a true binary.
